Deloitte employees David Becker, Alice Leadbeater-Terris and Ciaran Nye from Deloitte in the Isle of Man and Guernsey all took part in the Isle of Man Parish Walk.
The walk was in aid of supporting The Children’s Centre (IoM) – Deloitte’s 5 Million Futures partner.
It was the first time that Deloitte has taken part in the walking race along with around 1,000 other walkers.
The aim of entering the Parish Walk, amongst other fundraising activity, is to raise as much money as possible for The Children’s Centre (IoM) charity, to help support their goal of turning difficult life experiences into brighter futures for children, teens, and families on the Isle of Man. The charities services directly address behavioural, learning, or emotional wellbeing needs, which are often the result of these experiences. They help bridge the gap in statutory provision before the point of crisis.
So far, the team have raised £1,926 and every £1 has been matched 100% by Deloitte, bringing the current total to £3,852. Deloitte in The Isle of Man will continue its fundraising activity for The Children’s Centre with two teams taking part in its upcoming Charity Golf Day.
Alice Leadbeater-Terris (pictured), Senior Manager in Audit and Assurance from Deloitte in the Isle of Man said: “The months of training definitely paid off. It was the first time I’ve taken part in the walk, and I was thrilled to have come out 33rd overall, 2nd in the Senior Women’s category, finishing the course in 20h 9m and 59s. I’m delighted to have helped raised money for the charity.”
Laura O’Sullivan Spiers, Director of Audit and Assurance at Deloitte in the Isle of Man said: “What an incredible effort and well done to everyone who took part in the challenge. We are delighted to be able to present The Children’s Centre (IoM) with the proceeds from our latest fundraising activity, helping to build better futures for islanders.”
