The Skipton Swimarathon has named its 2024 Ambassador as Steve Byrne, Manager of the G.S.P.C.A.
Steve (pictured) is well-known across the island for his passion for animal welfare, and enthusiasm for raising funds for the charity.
He said: “I am thrilled to be the Ambassador for the 2024 Skipton Swimarathon. The family-friendly swimming event is such a tradition on the island and being the ‘face’ of it is something I take great pride in.”
The reservation system is now open, and the event takes place at Beau Sejour between Wednesday 2nd and Sunday 6th October. The Skipton Swimarathon is organised jointly by the Guernsey Round Table and Lions Club of Guernsey, and supported by long-term sponsor, Skipton.
Steve added: “The GSPCA can only exist with the support of the public so I would urge as many people as possible to form a team, take the plunge and raise as much as you can. I promise you it will be money well spent.”
