HSBC has appointed Candida Collar as Country Head of Wealth and Personal Banking in Guernsey, to lead the Bank’s retail, Premier, wealth and mortgage services, and oversee its branch network across the island, Sark and Alderney.
Candida (pictured) brings a wealth of banking experience to the role having been part of the HSBC Group for over 22 years, most recently working in Jersey for HSBC Expat as both Area Director and a Wealth Coach supporting frontline teams and expatriate customers around the world with their wealth needs. Before moving to Jersey Candida worked with and led financial advice teams in the UK.
In her new role, Candida will focus on ensuring that HSBC’s customers in Guernsey continue to receive great service to support their wealth and financial planning needs, in areas such as banking, savings, lending, mortgage and wealth advice. She will also play a pivotal role in supporting the Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) team locally with ongoing professional development opportunities, and in engaging with the locally community.
Candida, who relocated to Guernsey this month takes over the mantle from Pete Turner.
Welcoming Candida to her new role, Alvaro Teixeira, HSBC’s Head of WPB Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Candida to our team in Guernsey. Her leadership and experience of the wealth and personal banking landscape will be key as we continue to build on and grow the highly customer-focused personal banking business we have across Guernsey, Alderney and Sark and her expertise will be pivotal as we support customers through all life stages – in a safe and secure way.”
