HSBC will formally re-open its flagship branch on St Helier’s high street next week.
The re-opening will follow an extensive seven-month refurbishment programme that sees the introduction of new state-of-the-art technology and considerably enhanced customer facilities.
The King Street branch, which has benefited from a substantial investment, will officially be re-opened on Monday 22nd January 2024 at a short ceremony by St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft. The completion of the refurbishment coincides with the 15th anniversary of HSBC first opening its branch on King Street in 2009, when it became the first bank to have a presence on St Helier’s main shopping street.
As part of the refurbishment, the branch facilities have received a significant upgrade providing an improved customer-friendly layout, including a counter service, which is new to the branch, private meeting rooms and booths, a dedicated Premier and mortgage space and an expanded suite of interactive banking machines.
Commenting on the branch re-opening, Alvaro Teixeira, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to re-open our new look flagship branch, which gives both our personal and business customers a really modern banking service.
“We’ve invested a lot into the design of the branch, installing the latest equipment to enable customers to do their day-to-day banking quickly and easily, while also improving our layout to enable the face-to-face service we know our customers still want.
“Having such a strong and visible presence on the high street also reaffirms our commitment to Jersey and we’re looking forward to welcoming customers into our new-look branch on King Street over the coming weeks.”
