The teams at Jersey’s two Hand Picked Hotels have helped raise over £3,000 to give local families a helping hand and they have resolved to continue their support for the charity in the New Year.
The staff at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa selected Brighter Futures as their charity of choice and hosted a number of events in 2023 to raise funds for and awareness of the charity that supports parents, carers, children and young people in the island.
All guests visiting Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa in 2023 were given the opportunity to donate £1 to the charity when paying their bill and their generosity throughout the year helped to raise £1,412.
The Spa team at L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa helped make Christmas extra special when both members and staff donated dozens of toys to their gift appeal and the hotel also hosted a quiz night, members dinner and auction which raised £1,800 for the charity.
Other events celebrating the partnership during the year included Cheltenham Gold Cup Day and Royal Ascot Race Day afternoon celebrations at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, organised by Island Fever Events, with Brighter Futures benefiting from the raffle proceeds of each event, and a lunch organised as a thank you to fourteen of Brighter Futures’ staff recognised for their long service to the charity.
The hotels also donated lunch, afternoon tea and fine dining vouchers as well as spa vouchers as prizes at various events including the popular White Collar Darts event, all helping to raise additional funds for their chosen charity.
Simon Miller, Regional General Manager, Channel Islands said: “Our teams in both hotels really committed to this partnership, making 2023 a great year for the charity as it celebrated its crystal anniversary and were delighted to be helping families with real difficulties and challenges in their lives. We’ll continue to look at ways of supporting Brighter Futures however we can in 2024!”
