Fifteen HSBC colleagues from across Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man have ‘graduated’ from the Bank’s inaugural female leadership programme this month.

Launched earlier this year, the programme, ‘HSBC Rise’, aims to support personal and professional development, by nurturing a workplace environment that champions gender equity and that provides a clear pathway enabling female leaders to flourish.

Over the past six months, the cohort for the programme has taken part in a number of workshops and interactive coaching sessions, all aimed at developing female talent, helping them to better navigate career-related challenges and prepare them for more senior roles.

The sessions were facilitated by external Learning and Development Coach and Consultant Emma Lloyd and focused on leadership potential and exploring the feeling of personal empowerment and leadership gravitas, with the aim of having a lasting impact on personal and professional growth.

Commenting on the success of the RISE programme, Elvina Aghajanyan, Head of HR, HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: “We understand the value of diversity and inclusion as an employer, which is why we are focused on creating an environment that embraces gender equity, where everyone can thrive and develop to their highest potential.

“We are delighted for the graduates of our HSBC Rise programme and their experience over the past few months will give them a strong platform to become future leaders, as we continue to build a culture across the business that puts equity, diversity and inclusion at its core.”
