Island firms are being urged to think about how they could improve their productivity, and to find out what advice and financial support they can access.

Jersey Business is holding information sessions on Tuesday 22 and Thursday 31 August at which businesses can find out about the Productivity Support Scheme (PSS) grant.

Funded by the Government of Jersey and managed by Jersey Business, the primary objective of the PSS is to kick-start positive changes within individual  businesses, fostering a more innovative, efficient, and productive business ecosystem. Successful applicants could be awarded up to £50,000 of matched funding.

Paul Murphy (pictured), CEO of Jersey Business said: “We know that businesses often lack the time and resource to focus on meaningful productivity improvement, but Jersey Business’ support can help to drive positive changes in a business. We firmly believe that supporting businesses’ growth and transformation is essential for a thriving economy, and these sessions are an opportunity for businesses to set a time in their busy calendars when they can focus on initiatives which do just that.

“Through the grant, we aim to be a catalyst for business evolution and progress. This grant presents a unique opportunity for businesses in Jersey to revitalise their operations, become more competitive, and make a lasting impact on the local business landscape.”

PSS grants can support a wide range of projects, including technology applications, process improvements, market expansion, and the introduction of new or improved products or services.

This diversity ensures that businesses from various sectors can benefit from the initiative. Businesses which are eligible for the grant will have access to ongoing expert guidance and mentoring from the team at Jersey Business, ensuring they develop robust project plans and achieve their desired outcomes.

Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport, and Culture said: “We are committed to fostering a dynamic and resilient business environment in Jersey, and the Productivity Support Scheme enables businesses to thrive, innovate, and embrace the challenges of the future.

“This initiative aims to propel our local businesses towards greater success and helps to elevate the economic prosperity of our Island, and I would urge all businesses to seize this opportunity and make the most of the support available to them.”

More information can be found here for the sessions on the 22 August and 31 August.
