After decades exploring the vital relationship between architecture and landscape, with talented but UK based landscape architects, StudiO has launched a landscape design service in collaboration with Guernsey based plantsman Jack Etheridge.
As understanding of the importance of biodiverse, low energy, low irrigation landscaping and sustainable construction principles has developed (and become the subject of legislation), it has become more important to conceive and plan for these considerations.
Drawing on a team of local specialists, StudiO brings together a design service in which Jack’s experience plays a vital role. His work has been recognised by various local and UK awards, and includes his work at Kew Gardens and the Chelsea Flower Show.
Jack Etheridge, Plantsman said: “Combining my passion for plants and their uses with StudiO’s team of Architects and Designers has been an exciting mix. We work collaboratively, Olly and his team bringing the overall vision and a rigour that is well needed on landscape projects, whilst I bring the expertise on plants, which are so important to plan and specify correctly.
“Whether planting for form and colour, biodiversity, sustenance to both wildlife and humans, for shade or decoration, indoor or out, the possibilities are endless.”
Oliver Westgarth, StudiO Founder said: “It’s early days so we’re intrigued to see what the take up looks like, but we love collaborating with Jack and the other natural world specialists we have been working with, and it feels like the logical step to offer this service to a wider audience.”
