Registration for the EY Easter Running Festival’s Junior Festival’s races is now open.

The Junior Festival is a 3-day event held from Friday, 7 April to Sunday, 9 April. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than previous years, with a variety of races including a beach run, cross country run, and relay (Easter egg hunt) run. All three races will take place at the same venues as the main EY Easter Running Festival’s events.

Ove Svejstrup, EY Guernsey’s Assurance Partner, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting the Junior Easter Running Festival. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for young people to get active, have fun, and develop their physical fitness.”

The festival is open to children of all ages, with races ranging from 500 meters to 4 kilometers in distance. The festival is also designed to encourage teamwork and sportsmanship among children. Participants can choose to enter one or all of the races, and the races will take place in various locations across the island.

Tom Druce, Guernsey Athletics Development Officer, said: “The Junior Easter Running Festival is set to be one of the most exciting events of the year for young athletes in Guernsey. We are grateful for the support of EY who help make this event possible. The festival is a great way for children to get involved in athletics, and we look forward to seeing some fantastic performances over the course of the weekend.”

On Friday, 7 April, the festival will start at Richmond Kiosk with an exciting multi-terrain race using a loop that includes Richmond Beach and the coastal path. On Saturday, 8 April, the festival moves to Les Amarreurs, Lucksall Garage for a cross country race using the grass trails around the old football pitches on L'Ancresse Common. On Sunday, 9 April, the festival concludes with a 4 x 1 mile relay around Delancey Park where junior teams will be allowed to compete in the main senior event. For the younger children, U7/U9, there is a team Easter egg hunt, which is a combination of an Easter egg hunt and cross-country run.
