Emma Syvret, aged 41, has taken part in White Collar boxing to raise money for Jersey Heart Support Group.
Emma took part in the fight organised by BoxinBusiness, in front of her parents who had flown in especially to watch – and not only did she win, she also raised over £1300 for the Jersey Heart Support Group.
Emma’s achievement is special in itself, but what is more remarkable is that Emma was diagnosed with Cardiac condition Supraventricular Tachycardia in 2005, and then had a Cardiac Ablation performed in St George’s Hospital, London. She has continued to suffer with an Ectopic Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat} which, Emma says: “I’ve just learned to live with”.
When Emma was younger, she was scared of her condition but as she has got older she has thrown herself into everything, and says she won’t allow her condition to define her or prevent her from living as full a life as possible.
Thanks to Emma’s hard work and dedication her fundraising will support the Jersey Heart Support Group in improving Cardiac care on the Island and the charity says it is very grateful for her support and sharing her Cardiac journey.
