Kroll, an independent provider of global risk and financial advisory solutions, is opening a new office in Guernsey in September, strengthening its presence and its restructuring offering in the Channel Islands.
Kroll is a global company with headquarters in New York and over 70 offices serving international clients. The opening of the new office, which is located in Saint Peter Port, coincides with the 10-year anniversary of Kroll’s Jersey presence in the Channel Islands.
The Guernsey office will utilise Kroll’s global restructuring capabilities to serve clients’ financial and operational restructuring needs, as well as provide financial services compliance and regulation services, which are also currently offered by the Jersey office alongside insolvency services.

John Ayres, who has been appointed as Managing Director, will head the new office. He will be leading a growing team as Kroll looks to expand and build its offering on the island. Ayres joins Kroll with over 25 years’ experience in insolvency, restructuring, forensic and corporate recovery services, including contentious cross-border insolvencies, shareholder disputes, asset-tracing investigations and the realisation of complex and illiquid assets.

In his previous role for a business advisory firm in the British Virgin Islands, Ayres served as Senior Managing Director and head of the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice. He is a qualified UK Chartered Accountant (ACA) and BVI Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
