National Coding Week is set to return to Guernsey’s Digital Greenhouse, for a diverse week of digital events
Last year the Digital Greenhouse had over 200 people at the nine events curated for National Coding Week, including the technology festival Future Rewired.
Returning to the Digital Greenhouse from Monday 12th to Saturday the 17th of September, National Coding Week once again looks to bring a wide range of expert knowledge, awareness and the opportunity to learn some digital skills at all levels.
The week looks to promote digital upskilling, highlight new technology and possibly be the first steps in a new career in the growing digital sector in Guernsey. There is something for everyone in this year’s line-up, from exploring digital tools for your business, a sustainability hackathon and the Guernsey Venture Challenge’s Pitch Night – the culmination of the Guernsey Venture Challenge’s eight shortlisted local businesses pitching to win £65,000 of grants to help kick start their startups.
National Coding Week will start on Monday with a lunch time session on Demystifying IP for small businesses, joined by Sarah Le Messirer sharing the ins and outs of IP for your small business, what you need to consider and steps to put things in place.
Thursday evening will see a Sharks Den style pitch evening with the Guernsey Venture Challenge businesses pitching to a panel of experts and founders in a bid to win grants for their startup ventures. The week will conclude with Saturdays Zero Energy Buildings hackathon, a day long sustainability workshop where everyone from all sectors and ages are invited to join regardless on your knowledge base.
