The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is regarded as one of the most difficult cyber certifications to pass, but that’s exactly what Resolution IT’s Senior Information Security Consultant, James Kelsh, has just done.
Requiring an in-depth knowledge of cyber security and an ability to look at the bigger cyber security picture rather than just parts of it, the CISSP certification is regarded as the highest level of cyber certification for those working in the IT industry. It is also the most globally recognised standard of cyber achievement in the industry.
James said: “I knew this was going to be a tough exam to take. I started studying for it a couple of months ago and in total, I put in between 60-70 hours of study time to make sure I was prepared. It’s not possible to take the exam here so I flew over to Southampton for the three-hour exam. I was absolutely delighted and relieved to pass and I am now just one of 10 people in Guernsey who hold this qualification.”
Olly Duquemin, Joint Managing Director at Resolution IT, said: “Staying qualified in the IT industry is an on-going process for our staff and for James to hold down a full-time job, family life and put in all those extra hours studying is no easy feat. It’s a fantastic result for him and also for us – the majority of those in Guernsey also holding this qualification are working in-house so James’ additional qualification will be of immediate benefit to our clients’ businesses across a range of sectors.”
