Carey Olsen has advised Jersey regulated fund manager Altis Partners and Blockchain.com, on the launch of Blockchain.com Asset Management ICC (BCAM), a new crypto multi-strategy fund platform.
The open-ended platform makes use of Jersey’s incorporated cell regime, with each of the two existing and future trading strategies (currently BTC Smart Beta and BTC Tracker) housed within a different cell.
The Carey Olsen team was led by corporate partner Chris Griffin (pictured), assisted by senior associate Sophie Hancock and associate Daniel Burridge.
Chris said: “The Altis/Blockchain.com platform sets the benchmark for other crypto projects in Jersey, and Carey Olsen is pleased to have supported this exciting project. The team expertly navigated complex regulatory aspects and we commend all parties involved on a successful launch.”
Stephen Hedgecock, Altis Partners CEO and founding principal, commented: “We’re excited to partner with a crypto-native firm like Blockchain.com to bring BCAM to market. This platform is further evidence of the increasing appeal of institutional grade crypto investment vehicles, and we are delighted to make it available to our sophisticated client base.”
“BCAM combines the very best of old world financial markets with the new world of crypto,” added Charles McGarraugh, Altis Partners chief investment officer.
“The advent of distributed ledger technologies and crypto assets has the potential to change the structure of financial services and global capital markets while presenting new opportunities for investors. We are pleased to offer our risk management and operational expertise in this exciting sector to an even broader range of clients.”
