The Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (CIFO) has published a consultation paper on a revised funding structure for CIFO after 31st December 2018, when the current funding structure expires.

This consultation paper is the fourth and final stage of a consultation process that was launched in April 2017.

The consultation seeks views on the proposed new CIFO funding structure.

CIFO is paid for by providers of financial services that fall within its jurisdiction, so we would welcome responses from providers and industry associations, as well as any other interested parties.  The closing date for this consultation is 19 June 2018.  All responses should be made in writing or by email to: [email protected] or by post to Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman, P O Box 114, Jersey, JE4 9QG.

CIFO will be holding stakeholder briefing sessions to discuss the proposals on the following dates:

  • Guernsey: 2pm on 4 May and 10am on 17 May 2018
  • Jersey: 10am on 3 May and 10am on 16 May 2018
