Over £1 million has been awarded to Channel Islands charities in 2021 by the Lloyds Bank Foundation.
From supporting mental health and those experiencing domestic violence to improving literacy and increasing employability, in its 35th year Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands has awarded more than £1 million to support the work of 29 charities.
This includes £350k of COVID recovery funding awarded during the pandemic.
Philippa Stahelin (pictured), Chair of the Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands, comments: “Our grant giving programme has enabled charities in Alderney, Guernsey and Jersey to continue to deliver their vital work.
“We know that many charities remain under significant pressure and many of this year’s grants have been awarded towards salary and operating costs. As a result, people living in our communities have been able to continue to access the support they need.
“As we reflect on 2021, this is an opportunity to thank all those working and volunteering in the Channel Islands charity sector for the positive impact they bring every day to all our lives.”
In 2021, the Foundation awarded grants totalling £1,071, 643 to the following charities:
- Alderney Mind
- Autism Guernsey, Bowel Cancer Guernsey, Carers Guernsey, Guernsey Caring for Ex-Offenders, Guernsey Employment Trust, Guernsey Mind, GROW, Ron Short Centre, Safer, Styx Centre, Trauma Recovery Centre, Vive La Vallette, Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney
