A long-standing supporter and the current Chair of the Trustees of Les Amis has been invested at Windsor Castle nearly two years after his honour was awarded.
Stewart Mourant received his MBE from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. He was accompanied by his wife Rosemary.
Following decades of service at Les Amis and previously Jersey Mencap, Stewart was made an MBE for Services to the Community in the New Year’s Honours List in 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony was postponed twice.
Shaun Findlay, Managing Director of Les Amis, said: “Stewart’s long association with Les Amis has not just made it the service supporting so many islanders we know today, he has also helped give it that feeling that Les Amis is part of their family.
“We owe so much to Stewart for his steadfast dedication to the charity. He had the foresight to set up an operating company to run alongside the charity to meet the changing needs of social care in the island.”
