Dandara and EVie, the shared transport operator, have signed an agreement to provide a car club for the exclusive use of residents at Dandara’s 16 Hilary Street development in St Helier.
By contracting with EVie, Dandara is anticipating the direction of travel outlined in the Sustainable Transport Policy and Jersey’s target dates for carbon neutrality.
Under the agreement, EVie will provide shared electric vehicles for the exclusive use of the residents of 16 Hilary Street, which can be reserved through an extension of the EVie App.
EVie Car Clubs offer a highly attractive alternative to personal car ownership, radically reducing the cost of transportation, as well as the cost of parking, insurance and fuel. Because car club vehicles can be shared easily between many residents, the number of car parking spaces required can also be reduced, thereby significantly saving on construction costs; and providing the planning authorities with more flexibility to approve high quality residential construction projects in congested urban environments.
