RBS International has appointed Bradley Davidson as manager of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

In the newly created role, which underscores RBS International’s commitment to environmental and social development, Bradley will lead the Bank’s ESG strategy team, shaping sustainable outcomes across its jurisdictions and providing insights across its channels and clients.

The ESG team will raise awareness of RBS International’s customers’ impact and ensure they have access to products and services that enable customers to make sustainable choices. Institutional and Corporate clients of the Bank will be able to fulfil their obligations and aspirations, which are now widely accepted as fundamental to a company’s success, on key socio-economic issues such as climate change.

“RBS International’s purpose-led strategy highlights the role that the Bank can play towards tackling macro economic issues and supporting our clients within the ESG field. There has been a substantial transformation in the market regarding expectations around ESG and our intention is to help clients to fulfil their obligations.

“As a business, we have made significant progress over the past year in the ESG space and I am looking forward to working with our relationship managers to support customers as the industry helps to lead the transition to a more sustainable economy. Supporting sustainability and socio-economic development has always been important to me and I welcome the opportunity to further develop the Bank’s ESG offering,” said Bradley.

Stuart Foster, managing director of Institutional Banking and Depositary Services at RBS International commented: “Bradley has been pivotal in developing RBS International’s ESG workstreams over the past year which makes him ideally placed to take on this specially created role.

“RBS International’s aim is to ensure that ESG factors are embedded across all activities within our own business and are easily accessible and achievable for clients in the personal and institutional banking spaces. ESG has gained increased global attention in recent times and we are proud to offer a dedicated team generating long term value for our customers, colleagues and communities”.

Based in London, Bradley started his career on the Bank’s corporate and markets graduate scheme and has gained experience across relationship management, customer experience and markets. Within the institutional banking team he then focused on markets providing customers with risk management solutions.

Bradley sat the inaugural ‘CFA UK ESG Investment Certificate’ exam in 2020 and achieved the CFA UK Diploma in Investment Management (ESG) qualification. He sits on the Institute of Directors (Jersey) environmental sub-committee and is currently part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Young Innovators programme.
