Santander International has appointed the team who will be managing Jersey’s new Santander Work Café at 13-15 Charing Cross.

John Burns will lead the team as Work Café Director. With more than ten years’ experience with Santander International, latterly as a Relationship Manager, John has the company know-how and community connections to act as an internal and external ambassador for the Work Café.

John said: “The Santander Work Café will offer a new customer experience with unique benefits for Islanders. We are all looking forward to working together to deliver the new services and help bring people together for working, meeting, and banking in this fantastic new space in the heart of St Helier.”

Katie Park comes to financial services after a twenty year career in dental nursing, hygiene, and practice co-ordination. As Work Café Manager Katie will be responsible for the smooth running of the Work Café, including liaising with Santander International’s barista partner.

Katie said: “Opening a new Work Café during a pandemic clearly brings some challenges, however, we have been able to factor the new environment in from an early stage and make hygiene an even more important element of operations.”

When the Santander Work Café opens in January 2021, the building will host five free meeting rooms which can be booked online, fully equipped with state-of-the art conference facilities, and co-working stations that can be used on a first come first serve basis.

Renovations take the building up to the highest standards, offering spacious, well ventilated rooms, accessible bathrooms, and easy-to-clean surfaces.

The barista area, which will be run by Cargo, includes freshly prepared food and sustainably sourced coffee. When paying with a Santander International debit card there will be a 30% discount on hot drinks and 15% on freshly prepared food.

James Pountney, CEO, Santander International, said: “The Santander Work Café offers exciting career development opportunities for team members and we are delighted to see John grow his career with Santander International, and to welcome Katie. Our new team brings a vast amount of experience from different parts of the business, and from different sectors to their roles. This is important in helping us make the Work Café a safe and accessible space for all the community.”

Santander has over eighty Work Cafés in nine countries around the world. As well as the meeting rooms, co-working space, and full café experience, Santander International’s banking customers will be able to meet relationship managers in the building, open and manage accounts, and withdraw money by using an ATM.
