A number of senior personnel from Brittany’s business community visited Jersey last week to explore potential trade opportunities between the island and the region.
Amongst ideas discussed was the possibility of an air route between the two.
Isabelle Pean-Metaireau, the sales cargo manager at Rennes Airport, said that they had raised the subject of a direct air link in the past.
“We have 28 destinations with ten airlines and we have grown 18% per year for two years right now. We also have the ninth-ranked cargo airport in France – we have many operators such as UPS, TNT, and we also have dedicated charter for live animals, food, automotive spare parts.”
The Ports of Jersey have stated they will be following up these enquiries with a view to initiating dialogue.
