Jersey Finance’s inaugural Rising Stars Awards are now open for voting from the public.

The awards celebrate young Jersey talent (age 16 – 30 years) and their successes and achievements within the International Finance Centre. Nominations have been put forward by Members of Jersey Finance who feel they know a young person who has made a difference to their workplace and really set a strong example in their field of work.

Over 150 entries were reviewed and shortlisted by a panel of expert, independent judges – Kate Wright, Director at Arbre Consulting & Co-Founder at The Diversity Network; Alexia McClure, Chief Operations Officer, Jersey Business; and Stuart Penn, Operations Manager, Skills Jersey.

Voting for the 35 shortlisted young professionals officially opened on Friday 3 April via the Jersey Finance website and closes on Friday 25 September. All shortlisted will be invited to an awards ceremony on Friday 13 November at La Mare Wine Estate, where the winner of each category will be announced.

Categories include law, accountancy, funds, compliance, banking, trust and corporate services, investment management, digital, marketing, human resources, operations/secretarial and corporate social responsibility.

Sponsors for the Rising Stars 2020 Awards are: Brooks Macdonald, Digital Jersey, EY, Government of Jersey, Highvern, HSBC, Jersey Law Society, Ocorian, Puritas, PwC and Walkers.

Commenting on the awards, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive, Jersey Finance said:

“In these uncertain times, it is important that we continue to recognise and celebrate young finance professionals, who are the future of our industry and brimming with potential. They deserve all the support we can give them, and we hope that our Member firms will take this opportunity to place their votes and celebrate the rising stars of Jersey’s finance industry.”
