4Gen Gas launched in Guernsey and Jersey

Guernsey Energy and Island Energy have each introduced 4Gen Gas, a low carbon fuel now available for homes and businesses in their respective islands.

Produced from household and industrial waste, BioLPG provides an alternative to conventional fuels and can be used without replacing existing appliances or upgrading infrastructure.

Described as a convenient ‘drop in’ option, 4Gen Gas offers a way for households and organisations to reduce their carbon footprint while continuing to use their current heating and cooking systems.

The initiative supports Guernsey and Jersey’s net zero by 2050 targets.

Graeme Millar (pictured), Chief Executive Officer at Islands Energy Group, said: “Sustainability has always been a priority for us. Earlier this year, we trialled BioLPG with local businesses, giving them the chance to contribute to a greener island. Now, with 4Gen Gas, everyone can join that movement—without the expense or disruption of changing appliances. It’s a practical way to make a real difference.”
