The cream of Guernsey’s property and construction industry has celebrated success at this year’s Guernsey Property & Construction Awards 2018.
At a glittering event hosted by Guernsey’s father and son motorsport duo, Andy and Sebastian Priaulx, 330 attendees were entertained on stage by stand-up comedian Jake Lambert. They also participated in a karting competition, where guests could pitch themselves against a time set by Sebastian at the start of the evening in a karting simulator.
A charity auction was also held on the night, raising £8,100 for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, with further table donations still being counted.
The Awards, now in their fourth year, celebrate the achievements of Guernsey’s diverse property and construction industry sectors. Public nominations are invited throughout each summer and a judging panel consisting of industry professionals uses their knowledge and information supplied on the nomination forms to decide a winner in each category.
Julie Todd, Managing Director of Collaborate Communications, who organise the event said: “Every year I continue to be astounded at the depth and breadth of talent a small island like Guernsey has to offer within the property and construction sectors. Whilst there are always economic and logistical challenges to island life, the skills we have on Guernsey are many.”
She continues: “It is heart warming to see so many young people taking on these skills and thriving. All the professionals here tonight are to be applauded for their sterling efforts.”
