Guernsey Police have been informed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) that their licensees may be the targets of a phishing scam.
The licensees may have received emails from an email account ending ‘guernseyfsc.com’.
Any emails received from this account are NOT legitimate and should be deleted or disregarded.
Legitimate emails from the Commission will ALWAYS end ‘gfsc.gg’.
Guernsey Police would like to take this time to remind residents to always be vigilant online. Always check who you are receiving emails from and their email address.
Never open links included in emails that you are not expecting or do not look legitimate. If you receive emails which include invoices and they notify you of a change of bank account, take the time to call the company you are dealing with and confirm.
If you feel that you have been the victim of an online scam, contact Guernsey Police on 01481 222222. You can also report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or via actionfraud.police.uk.
