Jersey’s Consumer Council is looking for a new chairperson to champion the work they do on behalf of people across the island.
The council say they’re looking for somebody with expertise in current consumer issues, awareness of the political and regulatory landscape, excellent communication and networking skills, and time to devote 12 hours a month to the role.
Their ideal candidate will be “a strong consumer voice” and will follow in the footsteps of their previous chairperson, Advocate Rose Colley.
It comes just days after Jersey’s government announced plans to beef up consumer protection with a new law to crack down on retailers who mislead customers. Those who break the law could face fines of up to £10,000.
The closing date for applications is this Friday, 5 January 2018.
You can submit your letter and CV by email to [email protected] or drop it off at the Jersey Consumer Council office in the Central Market in St Helier.
