VisitGuernsey has won best website at the global Travel Marketing Awards, arguably the most respected awards in the travel and tourism marketing calendar.
Travel destinations from all over the world were nominated for one of the industry’s most sought-after accolades.
In addition to its win for best website, VisitGuernsey was shortlisted in two other categories; travel brand of the year and best advertising campaign, which it placed second for its ‘Our Spa Never Closes’ campaign.
The awards celebrate brilliance in travel marketing, rewarding the originality, creativity, innovation and relevancy delivered by brands, teams and individuals across a wide range of disciplines within advertising, marketing, digital and PR.
Deputy Neil Inder, President of the Committee for Economic Development, said: “This is a significant achievement and one the marketing team should be rightly proud of.
“VisitGuernsey continues to work well with a range of partners, along with the Tourism Management Board and the wider industry, to market the Islands of Guernsey effectively, cost-efficiently and with notable creativity. All of the creative output is produced by local talent so this is a great story for Guernsey’s creative industry. I congratulate them on their three nominations and their win for best website.”
Mary Putra MBE, Director of Marketing and Communications for the States of Guernsey, said: “We are delighted to have won best website at this year’s Travel Marketing Awards, after being shortlisted for all three categories we entered. Second in a best campaign category is equally as fantastic because it’s highly competitive. Travel destinations from all over the world were represented at last night’s awards. It was a fantastic achievement for not only our team but our partners in local tourism businesses who fed in their thoughts and ideas and TPA, our local Creative Digital Marketing agency.
“We believe in working with local talent and by doing so support our creative industries on island. Collaboration is key and we have shown, once again, that Guernsey can compete with the best and win.”
