Viberts partner Zoe Blomfield has been sworn in by the Dean of Jersey as Notary Public, after rising through the ranks of the company since joining in 2004.
Zoe took the notary exams in 2017 under the mentorship of Viberts’ current Notary Public, Charles Thacker. The process was overseen by the Notaries society which in turn was overseen by Archbishop of Canterbury. As Notary Public, Zoe will prepare and authenticate various documents including Powers of Attorney, immigration, business and education documents, and deal with the purchase and sale of land overseas.
Adding a local flourish to her role, Zoe’s Notary seal will feature a Jersey Lily.
Zoe joined Viberts in 2004, most recently appointed as Managing Partner, heading up the Personal law department. Her expertise lies in the administration of foreign and cross border estates as well as high net value local estates, often for financial institutions and overseas law firms.
Zoe is a Board Member of the Jersey Advisory and Conciliation Service (JACS) – an employment relations service that helps both employers and employees.
Commenting on the recent appointment, Advocate Rose Colley, Family Law Partner, Viberts said:
“Zoe’s appointment to Notary Public is so thoroughly deserved. She has long been an asset to Viberts and to the Island’s legal network and it was the right time for her to take on a new challenge within the firm.
“The process of becoming a Notary Public is notoriously difficult and she will serve an incredibly important role within the Island community, whilst still leading Viberts’ personal law team as partner.”
