Guernsey’s independent fiduciary services provider, Trust Corporation International, has appointed trusts and pensions expert Paul Buckle to its board of directors.
Mr Buckle is well known to many within the offshore trust world, having worked for over 15 years as a trusts lawyer in Guernsey, specialising in complex trust and pension litigation. He most recently worked as General Counsel at Guernsey Electricity.
While he will not be practising or advising clients in his new role, Mr Buckle’s arrival is central to Trust Corporation’s desire to solidify its position as the offshore market-leader in the field of contentious fiduciary work.
Trust Corporation has earned a reputation for its willingness and ability to confront challenging trust situations (and to litigate where necessary and appropriate). Mr Buckle’s appointment to the board materially enhances the firm’s ability to service the undoubted demand for competent professional fiduciaries to work on structures subject to disputes or otherwise compromised.
Michael Heyworth, Director of Trust Corporation International, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the Trust Corporation team. His background, skills and experience are hugely complementary to the work that we do here and will greatly enhance our offering, particularly on complex and contentious trust matters.”
Mr Buckle has a long history of contributing to key publications on matters of interest to the wider industry and will continue to do so in his new role, albeit with a change of perspective from that of practising lawyer to fiduciary. He said: “Trust Corporation is well known for the quality of its work and client-base and it’s a pleasure to become part of such a talented, well-regarded and ambitious team.
