20 years ago at the start of April 2001, Stephanie Bass set up Channel Islands Training & Development (CITD) a company specialising in management and personal development training for the corporate sector.
Programmes have included Time Management, Supervisory Skills, Finance for Non Financial Managers, Accuracy and Attention to Detail, Leadership, Personal Effectiveness, Assertiveness and Effective Written Communication Skills to name but a few.
Within a year and a half of the company’s inception the annual business turnover had gone from zero to over a quarter of a million pounds. As a direct result of this success Stephanie was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the Jersey Awards for Enterprise in 2003.
Now twenty years on after an extremely tough year the business is still going strong. The company had to adapt quickly as a result of the pandemic and has recently been offering online training programmes to a worldwide audience in addition to the usual face to face local open and in-house course schedule.
In 2021 delegates have been attracted from the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. After a dramatic downturn in trade the company is now very optimistic for the year ahead offering its portfolio of courses to a much wider audience.
Stephanie Bass, CITD’s Managing Director said: “This last year took a lot of thinking out of the box, but thanks to an amazing team of training associates who demonstrated incredible flexibility and adaptability the road ahead is looking very positive now. As Walt Disney once said “If you can dream it you can do it – a quote that I have always believed from the very beginning”.
To celebrate CITD’s 20th birthday the company is donating £20 (representing 20 years) for every open course booked during the month of April to the local charity of the attendee’s choice.
“Local charities like most businesses have been hit so hard by the pandemic so we are delighted to be able to help in this small way” said Stephanie.
