Jersey’s Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant has appointed three new members of staff in key roles across the business.
Lisa Walker joins as Sales and Marketing Manager, Rustem Mingaleev as Head Sommelier and George Moisan as Assistant Restaurant Manager.
The strengthening of the team at The Atlantic comes after a turbulent year for the industry but demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to the future of tourism and hospitality in Jersey as it prepares for 2021.
Ms Walker joined The Atlantic as Sales and Marketing Manager in October and brings with her over fifteen years’ experience in the marketing world. Jersey born, she was educated at Jersey College for Girls and, after some time working for a leading marketing agency in the UK, returned to Jersey in 2012. Before joining The Atlantic she worked in in-house marketing roles within the finance industry and, most recently, for Jersey’s public bus network, LibertyBus. Ms Walker will now play a key role in driving awareness of The Atlantic Hotel and the island of Jersey.
The appointment of Rustem Mingaleev as Head Sommelier brings with it a wealth of experience from luxury hotels across the UK and Europe. Mr Mingaleev began his career in Madeira before moving to the UK and taking on the role of Head Sommelier at the five star Bovey Castle and then Gidleigh Park in Devon. His encyclopaedic knowledge of wines perfectly complements the skills of Executive Chef Will Holland and the team in Ocean Restaurant.
The restaurant team is further strengthened by the appointment of George Moisan. Born and educated in Jersey, Mr Moisan trained in hotel management at the Edge Hotel School before gaining experience in luxury hotels across the south of England. As Assistant Manager in Ocean Restaurant, he joins an experienced team providing the highest level of service to diners and hotel guests.
Owner and managing director of The Atlantic Hotel, Patrick Burke said, “We are hugely excited to welcome Lisa, Rustem and George to the team at The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant. 2020 has been a challenging year for the hotel but we remain committed to achieving the highest possible standards across the business and these appointments reflect that.
