Walkers has recruited newly qualified associate Katherine Jensen to its Guernsey Insolvency and Dispute Resolution team – the third new arrival to the team this year.
Katherine, who was educated in Guernsey, qualified as an English Solicitor at a full-service regional firm in the UK this summer before deciding to return to the Island to pursue her career.
She has joined Walkers’ Guernsey Insolvency and Dispute Resolution team led by partner Alison Ozanne advising on disputes relating to trusts, restructuring and insolvency and contentious regulatory matters. The team has this year already seen the arrivals of partner Adam Cole and senior counsel Jamie Bookless, both from other offshore law firms.
Alison said: “We are delighted to welcome Katherine to the team – she joins us at a time when very sadly we are seeing an increase in the number of enquiries and instructions in respect of contentious insolvency matters, a trend that equally sadly we expect to see continue in the weeks and months ahead. Our team has grown considerably this year due to growing client led demand, and we are very much looking forward to Katherine joining our busy team”.
Walkers’ headcount in Guernsey has grown by 73% in the last two years, with arrivals in the Private Capital and Trusts team as well as the Insolvency and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, and with more announcements set for next month.
