The Ladies’ College has announced its nomination for ‘Disrupter of the Year’ at The Véyaon Awards 2024, hosted by the Digital Greenhouse.
This nomination comes as a result of The Ladies’ College’s commitment to redefining educational norms and empowering young women through innovative learning approaches.
Over the past year, the College has implemented several forward-thinking programmes.
The Ladies’ College has added advanced technology into the curriculum to enhance interactive learning including designing a bespoke AI course with University College London, as well as launching programmes that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and business acumen among students. As well as this, the College has introduced collaboration with local organisations to provide real-world experiences and build the skills of the future through its new Pathways parallel curriculum.
The Véyaon Awards celebrate innovation and entrepreneurial spirit within Guernsey, recognising individuals and organisations that are making significant strides in their respective fields.
The ‘Disrupter of the Year’ category specifically highlights entities that are challenging the status quo and introducing groundbreaking initiatives.
Daniele Harford-Fox (pictured), Principal of The Ladies’ College, said: “We’re thrilled! Being shortlisted for the ‘Disrupter of the Year’ award is a testament to our dedicated staff and ambitious students who continually strive to push boundaries.
“In education, we spend a lot of time trying to minimise disruption. But not all disruption is created equal. Disruption for the purpose of challenge or re-examination feels vital, particularly in moments of change.
“We believe in fostering an environment where innovation thrives, and this recognition inspires us to continue making a positive impact in education.”
