The Ladies’ College is celebrating the achievement of its Principal, Daniele Harford-Fox, who was named ‘Disrupter of the Year’ at The Véyaon Awards 2024, hosted by the Digital Greenhouse.
The award recognises Daniele’s leadership in challenging educational norms and empowering young women through innovation and forward-thinking initiatives.
This accolade reflects Daniele’s and the College’s shared commitment to preparing students for the future by blending technology, creativity, and real-world problem-solving into its curriculum. Among this year’s standout achievements was the introduction of the Pathways parallel curriculum, which integrates real-world experiences through partnerships with local organisations. These initiatives aim to equip students with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Daniele Harford-Fox, Principal of The Ladies’ College, commented: “In education, we have focused historically on reducing disruption! However, in this moment of change, where AI is reshaping the world, we have to be willing to ask questions and explore whether the system we have built is still fit for purpose.
“Guernsey is in a powerful position to capitalise on this moment – to be disruptive in the global context.
“At The Ladies’ College we have found that our unique island community has allowed us to partner with industry and thought leaders to shape a world class offering. We are incredibly proud of all the work our staff and partners have done and deeply grateful to have received this reward.”
