The Juggling King, a new Guernsey rum company, has bolstered its board with the appointment of David Hitchcock OBE.
The Juggling King Rum Company, formed by local businessman Jack Gervaise-Brazier, will create the first rum to be distilled in Guernsey in recent history.
David Hitchcock OBE will sit as Director on the board. A Cambridge graduate, Mr Hitchcock is well respected in the City of London, with an extensive background in the financial services industry and engineering.
Mr Hitchcock’s career path started in the British Army, where he worked his way up through the ranks to Captain in the 6th Queen Elizabeth’s Own Gurkha Rifles. It was following this that he began his financial career, which has seen him work for Goldman Sachs, Grant Thornton and JP Morgan where he was Managing Director.
Most recently Mr Hitchcock was appointed as a Trustee of the Gurkha Welfare Trust and has been director of several industrial companies and charities.
Mr Hitchcock comments: “Jack’s vision and enthusiasm were extremely attractive alongside a tremendous business opportunity both locally and internationally.
“I am delighted and excited to be involved.”
Jack Gervaise-Brazier, founder and Managing Director of The Juggling King, concludes: “It is fantastic to welcome a director of such high calibre to our board.
“David’s appointment is consistent with my vision of the business to build with the future in mind from the start. He is a huge asset to the business as we initiate phased growth and international expansion from our humble yet historic local roots.”
Mr Hitchcock’s experience will prove invaluable as the company looks to raise further funding in anticipation of international growth, having already successfully closed round one ahead of schedule.
