The Juggling King, the first Guernsey rum company, has further strengthened its board with the addition of Robert Shepherd, following the recent appointment of David Hitchcock OBE.
Robert Shepherd, a Partner at Mourant Ozannes, brings with him a wide experience of corporate and fiduciary matters in a 30 year litigation career.
Mr Shepherd’s career saw him move from Clifford Chance to Mourant Ozannes in 1999, where in three years he was promoted to Partner and not long afterwards Managing Partner, being appointed the firm’s Global Senior Partner in 2013. Throughout this time he has been involved in a number of high profile trust cases, and in recent years he has developed his expertise in fund litigation.
Robert Shepherd, Director of The Juggling King Rum Company, says: “I am very excited to support the company as it embarks on this exciting journey. I hope to provide the necessary guidance to the board at all levels relating to the company’s serious and focused growth prospects.”
Jack Gervaise-Brazier, founder and Managing Director of The Juggling King, concludes: “I have the greatest respect for Robert as a director and his appointment serves to provide excellent corporate governance and local legal support for the business.
“To be flanked by the high calibre of directors such as David Hitchcock OBE and Robert Shepherd is extremely exciting for the positioning of the business, as it puts its growth on a sustainable footing.”
The Juggling King continues to build its unique distilling process and laying the foundations ahead of imminent production to the highest standard. In addition, the company is also growing its own sugarcane locally.
