The Institute of Directors Jersey 2024 Future Leaders scheme, sponsored by by KPMG, culminated in a celebratory awards ceremony at the Royal Yacht Hotel.
The event saw the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning presenting students with their certificates and awards, alongside representatives from the main sponsor, KPMG, and Andium Homes. Open to all Year 12 students, the scheme offers a unique opportunity to spend a week shadowing a Director or Senior Manager, providing invaluable career insight.
The Future Leaders scheme, which has been running for over 40 years, had a broad range of participating organisations this year, including Ports of Jersey, Waddington Architects, All Island Media, JT, Preston Legal, Danny Evans Photography, Jersey Cheshire Homes, Lodge Farm, KPMG, as well as various Government Departments such as the Jersey Library, Economy Department, Health and Community Services, and CYPES.
Thirty students were celebrated at the event. Seventeen students from across the island’s schools received certificates of participation, and a further seven students were awarded Commended certificates.
The three Highly Commended Winners were:
- 1st: Neil Sontakke – placement with Santander (Victoria College)
- 2nd: Lacey Le Boutillier – placement with Channel TV (Beaulieu)
- 3rd: Yasmin Jenkins – placement at External Relations (JCG)

Andium Homes Sponsored Prizes were also awarded as follows:
- Best Application: Beatrice Lennon (Hautlieu)
- Best Interview: Honor Toudic (JCG)
- Best Report: Daniel Carter (Highlands)
