The Deerhound Inn managed by Liberation Pubs & Bars has reopened following an extensive refurbishment inside and out.
The traditional country pub in Le Bourg, Forest has been completely transformed with a fresh, modern country look and feel.
Interior stone walls and brickwork have been washed in tones of grey, displaying botanical prints, eclectic artwork and greenery. Statement lighting fixtures in natural materials, velvet banquette seating, upholstered mid-century inspired lounge chairs and low- and high-level wooden furniture create a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas.
The bar has been moved to create more space and updated with an industrial metal over gantry. The pub’s exterior has been refreshed with a striking blue and white paint job, as has the site’s branding and signage which now features the portrait of a thoughtful deerhound. Outside is a beautiful garden with a sunny sheltered terrace which is sure to be a popular spot in the warmer months.
Steve Elson, Operations Manager, Liberation Pubs & Bars says: “The pub looks amazing. Despite the big changes the integrity and fabric of this much-loved building remains intact.
“We’re incredibly proud of the new look and we can’t wait to show it off to locals and visitors. Our award-winning food and drink offering has also been refreshed with some new dishes which we’re sure guests are going to love.”
The revamped menu focuses on locally sourced produce such as Guernsey crab and local scallops, seasonal ingredients and elevated hearty pub classics. The menus and daily specials also feature Liberation ales where possible such as Liberation Ale-battered fish and chips. On Sundays there’s a traditional carvery with a selection of meats and vegetable dishes. Behind the bar is a great selection of wine and cocktails, alongside a wide range of craft beer and real ale from Liberation’s award-winning brewery.
