Emilia (Millie) Goubert MICB PM.Dip, Operations Manager at TCS Guernsey, has been awarded Student of the Year at the annual Luca Awards, hosted by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
Known as the ‘Oscars of the bookkeeping world,’ the Luca Awards celebrate exceptional achievement across the bookkeeping profession.
Millie’s recognition highlights her commitment to both her professional qualifications, and the future of bookkeeping in Guernsey.
The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) is the world’s largest bookkeeping institute, with members in 110 countries, and is widely regarded for setting the gold standard in bookkeeping qualifications.
Millie, who has been with TCS Guernsey for over four years, achieved the certification alongside her full-time role as Operations Manager of TCS Guernsey.
Reflecting on her achievement, Millie Goubert said: “I’m thrilled to have won the ICB UK Student of the Year at the LUCA Awards. Balancing study, full-time work, and managing a small team has been challenging at times, and this moment made it all worth it. At TCS Guernsey, we have a young team, many of whom join as trainees, and I hope to set an example for them and others in the profession, showing the exciting opportunities they can pursue.”
TCS Guernsey Director Tim Chilestone, who was also awarded the title of Companion by the ICB for his outstanding contributions to bookkeeping, praised Millie’s dedication: “It’s incredibly rewarding to see Millie recognised for her hard work. At TCS Guernsey, we believe in training and supporting young talent and Millie is a great example of what’s possible when people are given the chance to grow. We’re committed to showing young professionals that bookkeeping offers a fulfilling career path and we’re proud of the strong team we’re building here.”
