Local addiction charity Independence has enhanced client communication with the use of a new Sure Cloud Voice system, thanks to a £1,000 donation from the Sure Community Foundation.
The donation also contributed toward two new mobile phones for the team to use, so client communication can continue outside the office.
Independence provides a free service, currently delivering more than 100 client sessions each month, supporting people to make changes that matter to them with substance or gambling problems.
Executive Officer, Tracey Rear said: “We’re extremely grateful to Sure Community Foundation for their donation, the phone system is a fundamental part of our service.
“Sure Cloud Voice is far more responsive than the old ISDN system, which used physical wiring to operate. It means that any of our team members can easily take calls on their mobile if the office is not suitable, or if they are out and about.
“Many of our referrals come through online, which Sure Fibre has made a much quicker and easier process, but there are plenty of people who still prefer to communicate over the phone and to hear our voices when making first contact.
“Modernising the way we communicate with clients is a key step in continually improving the service we provide, and this donation will directly contribute to that.”
Chair of the Sure Community Foundation, Lucienne De La Mare (pictured), said: “Having the tools to communicate with clients conveniently and easily is paramount for Independence, and we are proud to have contributed to their improved communication process.
“Connection is at the heart of our community, and it is rewarding for the whole team to fuel that connectivity into well-deserving charities like this one.”
