Carey Olsen is to host the Jersey Junior Lawyers Association’s (JJLA) summer party on Thursday 16 August.
The law firm has been a keen supporter of the JJLA since it was established in 2015, with 18 of its staff currently members of the association. The summer barbeque will take place in the Carey Olsen courtyard at its Esplanade offices.
Carey Olsen partner, Marcus Pallot, said: “Carey Olsen is delighted to be able to support the JJLA and I know the JJLA is hugely appreciative of the use of the firm’s facilities for its summer barbeque. The JJLA is a recently formed organisation so being able to host events like this plays a key role in it achieving its aim of bringing together junior lawyers in Jersey for networking, skill development and education.”
Carey Olsen associate and JJLA committee member Rebecca Steens commented: “We currently have 90 members of the JJLA across the island but the committee knows there are many other lawyers who could benefit from being part of the JJLA. As someone who was new to Jersey a couple of years ago, I’ve really valued being part of the JJLA and the wider networking and educational opportunities it offers.”
Membership of the JJLA is open to Jersey student lawyers, trainee lawyers and those at associate level. As well as the summer barbeque, the JJLA will be arranging a number of educational seminars and other social events over the course of 2018, culminating in a black tie dinner which is proposed for early in the new year.
