Alderney’s ten States Members have reconfirmed their commitment to engage with the Community on any issues and questions they wish to raise.
This can be achieved by direct contact with individual Members or attendance at the monthly Open Forum following the People’s Meeting.
All Members’ contact details are published on the States of Alderney website and they are eager to engage by appointment during normal working hours.
The public is encouraged to raise matters at the Open Forums which follow the monthly People’s Meeting convened a week before the full States Meetings. Written questions are preferred, submitted in advance to the Chief Executive’s office at Island Hall as this process allows Members to properly research the answers.
There is normally no People’s Meeting or States meeting in February or August.
“We are always conscious of the need to find constructive ways for the public to ask questions or voice their concerns,” said PFC Chairman Nigel Vooght (pictured).
However, the Policy & Finance Committee (PFC) decided at its first meeting of 2024 to end the weekly drop-ins at Island Hall that have been offered since 2021, due to very limited public attendance since the initiative was started.
