St Helier Marina has been voted Coastal Marina of the Year by members of the UK Yacht Harbour Association (YHA).
The 500 berth marina hosts local and visiting vessels and is the location for the annual Barclays Jersey Boat Show each spring.
The win was revealed at the London Boat Show where Ports of Jersey group leisure manager, Mike Tait, accepted the accolade on behalf of Jersey Marinas.
He said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award, especially as it is voted for by our customers. Although we are small in number each and every one of the team takes an enormous pride and pleasure in looking after our marina guests. To receive such recognition from the prestigious Yacht Harbour Association is a true reflection of the dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism consistently demonstrated by the Jersey Marinas Team and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us”.
It comes as all three of Jersey’s marinas – St Helier, Elizabeth and La Collette – maintain their 5 Gold Anchors status from the Yacht Harbour Association for a 13th consecutive year.
The Gold Anchor Scheme, which was established almost 30 years ago, recognises the quality and level of facilities and services provided to boat owners and has become a trustworthy measure of excellence for them in finding a visiting or permanent berth. Jersey Marinas first joined the voluntary scheme 17 years ago and have held 5 Gold Anchors status since 2005.
Mike said: “The Gold Anchor Scheme is an internationally acknowledged sign of quality and endorses Jersey as a leading marina leisure destination in Northern Europe, an accolade we are justifiably proud to hold.”
