The Jersey Old Motor Club cavalcade were greeted with waves and flags as they drove into St Aubin on Liberation Day.

The club members congregated with their ‘old motors’, which date prior to 1951, in St Helier’s Broad Street and up to the Town Hall before the Connetable of St. Helier, Simon Crowcroft, raised the Club’s flag to send the cavalcade off at 11.15 a.m. on Liberation Day, 9th ay 2021.

Many of the cars date to pre World War 2, including a number which were in the island during the German Occupation.

The vehicles, colourfully adorned with Liberation regalia, will then set off on a journey around the island, passing each of the parish churches at the following times:

The President of the Club, Jonathan Scott Warren, said: “We are delighted to be able to hold this event and celebrate this hugely important day in the island’s calendar, and add some additional colour to the festivities as we pass each of the parishes”.
