From this year, Seymour Hotels of Jersey have formed a partnership with local hospitality supply business, Cooper & Co Coffee.
The Seymour Hotels of Jersey’s relationship with Cooper & Co is anything but new. In fact back in the 1950’s the coffee company, who originally traded as Herbert & Ward, were suppliers of loose leaf tea to the Seymour Hotel properties.
The partnership continued when the company was purchased by Mr Warr’s grandfather in 1964 as Cooper & Co. They went on to supply everything from instant coffee at the Merton Hotel, to coffee and chicory to the Le Coie Hotel and Kenya and Colombian coffee to the La Plage and Portelet Hotels.
Managing Director of the Seymour Hotels Group, Mr David Seymour, expressed his delight at the partnership and his admiration for David Warr’s dedication to ethical and quality products. “We are delighted to re-establish our deep rooted connection with Cooper & Co. David Warr’s passion for coffee and his ethical approach to its sourcing and supply is one we wholly endorse.
“Having watched David build his business to where it is today based on very high quality product and service we are very confident that guests and customers across all our Group properties will be similarly delighted to experience the great taste of Cooper & Co.”
After the past two difficult years, when the time came to tender for a new coffee supplier, David Seymour thought it vital to retain as much of our supply chain on island as possible and was eager to emphasise the importance of local collaborations and mutual support of homegrown businesses.
Talking further on the partnership, David Warr added: “It’s fantastic to renew our business dealings with the Seymour group. As two long standing locally owned family businesses I believe that together we offer a unique visitor experience which showcases ‘brand’ Jersey.
