Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, has appointed David Allen to its Jersey practice as a Corporate Partner.
With over 20 years’ experience practising in Jersey and UK corporate markets, David’s practice focuses on corporate finance (particularly AIM, main market and US listings of Jersey companies), mergers and acquisitions and general corporate advice. David also has particular expertise in relation to large M&A transactions conducted via Jersey schemes of arrangement. He is ranked as a Notable Practitioner in IFLR1000 2022 and has been recognised as a ‘stand out’ lawyer in The Legal 500.
David, who joins from another Jersey law firm, becomes the sixth Partner based in Jersey at the growing firm which has increased its headcount by over 45% in the last twelve months.
With dedicated practices in Corporate, Finance and Funds & Investment Management, the team is selected to advise on first-of-its-kind transactions for the jurisdiction and has completed some outstanding corporate deals this year. Notable transactions include the first CLO migrations to Jersey and more recently, the team advised on the first Jersey Limited Liability Company to be incorporated and registered in the jurisdiction. Additionally, the team regularly assists on multi-jurisdictional matters working closely with lawyers across the Maples Group’s global network to support international clients on technical and highly innovative cross-border transactions.
