JTC has been appointed Tony Whitney as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Jonathan Jennings promoted to Group Head of Institutional Client Services (ICS) as the company looks to strengthen its service offering in both divisions.
Tony, who is based in Jersey, takes on the CCO role, a new Group Holdings Board (GHB) position, after 22 years at JTC, previously holding Jonathan’s role as Group Head of ICS. He also remains Managing Director of JTC’s Jersey office, a position he has held since 2015.
Following JTC’s successful first year results since listing in March 2018, Tony will work with both Institutional and Private Client Divisions to further embed the Group’s commitment to client service excellence, develop organic growth strategies, both direct and via intermediary partners and identify opportunities for service enhancement and efficiency, including through the selected application of technology. He will also play a key part in our inorganic growth strategy, working alongside Nigel Le Quesne (CEO), Martin Fotheringham (CFO) and JTC’s Group Development team to implement a rigorous approach to M&A activity.
Meanwhile, Jonathan, based in London, will continue in his previous role as Managing Director of JTC UK as he takes on his additional ICS role and joins the GHB alongside Tony.
As Group Head of ICS, Jonathan has responsibility for the strategic development and performance of JTC’s global funds and corporate business lines. The ICS Division services an international client base spanning the US, Europe, Africa and Asia and operates a global platform that includes offices in New York, Miami, Cayman, Jersey, Guernsey, Cape Town, Mauritius and Dubai.
Commenting on both promotions, Nigel Le Quesne, CEO JTC, said:
“Tony and Jonathan together hold a substantial amount of expertise and experience within JTC, so I am pleased that they have both achieved these promotions. Tony’s new role as CCO will be invaluable to the future direction of JTC’s commercial business and I am certain we will continue to see positive results under his leadership. Jonathan is the perfect candidate to step into Tony’s shoes in the ICS division and I am looking forward to seeing this business line also thrive.”
Reflecting on his new role, Tony said:
“Having been part of JTC for a couple of decades now, I feel well placed to continue to help support our growth plans by working closely with my colleagues across all divisions and departments as CCO. I am confident JTC can reach its ongoing goal to become the go-to company for a high-quality, innovative and streamlined service offering across all jurisdictions and business lines and look forward to being a part of that.”
Jonathan added:
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead JTC’s funds and corporate business lines and to play a part in the company’s continuing success. The industry is evolving rapidly and I am certain that JTC’s drive to see its people and clients prosper sets us apart from the competition. In taking up his new role, Tony leaves the ICS division well placed for the future and I look forward to the challenge of working with our global team to continue this trend.”
