The 2024 Alderney Literary Festival is a sell-out!
The fact that all tickets have already been sold demonstrates the increasing popularity of the annual event which puts the Island firmly on the literary map, with leading historical authors and international historians enthused by its reputation.
Ten best-selling writers line up at the Island Hall between March 22 and 24 for 12 talks and panel discussions, plus four separate Book Club round-table discussions at local venues.
Organiser Isabel Picornell said: “This is our seventh Alderney Literary Festival and I am delighted how Alderney has made a name for itself in the genre of historical writing. The Festival has become like a family, with our regular festival-goers from Guernsey, Jersey and the UK attending year after year, and our wonderful sponsors who continue to support us.”
The 2024 theme is ‘Journeys’. Some journeys are about discovery, exploration and conquest, while others may be journeys for survival – to escape war or to find a better life. All journeys tell us something about the human condition – about who we are, how we got here, and where we are going.
All rover tickets and individual talk tickets were sold by the beginning of March but returns and no shows may mean some last-minute tickets may be available. To check availability, call Alderney Visitor Centre on 01481 822333 or email to be added to the waiting list. Interactive Book Club events with four of the visiting authors are now also full.
