Fund Administrator Saltgate has supported fundraising for St Catherine’s Sailing Club’s new safety RIB.
Almost 70% of the cost was raised by a group of colleagues under Saltgate’s Global Giving scheme. The scheme enables employees to support causes close to their heart – they nominate a charity, and Saltgate will donate on their behalf.
The RIB has been named ‘Salty’ to celebrate the partnership between Saltgate and St Catherine’s Sailing Club, and was launched to sea at a naming ceremony.
Chief Executive Officer Simon Riley, Chief Corporate Officer Hannah Culshaw, and fellow Saltgate colleagues were in attendance.
St Catherine’s Sailing Club’s mission is to provide a safe and fun environment to make sailing and the sea truly accessible to all islanders. Salty the RIB will empower the Club to do so.
A representative from St Catherine’s Sailing Club said: “We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly grateful to that St Catherine’s Sailing Club was a recipient of Saltgate’s Global Giving initiative. This incredible opportunity, made possible by the generous hearts of the dedicated Saltgate team, has truly left us speechless.
“The new rib is an investment in the future of our community. It will serve as a vessel of hope, opportunity, and learning for both children and adults who participate in our sailing programs.
“Thanks to Saltgate’s collective effort and support, Salty will play a vital role in supporting the next generation of sailors, providing them with the tools and resources they need to learn, grow, and succeed on the water.”
Simon Riley, Saltgate’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re delighted to establish a new charitable partnership with St Catherine’s Sailing Club. With Jersey being an island nation, and home to our biggest office, the sea, beach, and beautiful coastline is part of its identity.
“We’re proud of the colleagues in Jersey who banded together to support fundraising; it highlights the strong sense of community we have at Saltgate, and our enthusiasm to support local, small, volunteer-led organisations.
“The team and I look forward to hearing updates about the impact Salty has in the community.”
