Five people are going to be tackling marathon distances in October to raise money for the Jersey Employment Trust and Acorn Enterprises.
Each day this week, Channel Eye is meeting one of the runners. Today we meet Salem Karadsheh.
Two ‘dad friends’ are going to raise funds for the Jersey Employment Trust by running the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon.
Salem Karadsheh and Alex Smyth will tackle the 26 miles on Sunday 2nd October.
Salem (43), financial controller at RBSi, has experience of marathons as well as ultra-marathons. “I recently completed a 100km ultra marathon in the UK,” he said. “I’m hoping to do the Jersey Marathon in 3 hr 30.
“I heard about JET from a friend who raised funds for them last year. I really admire what the charity is doing to help people with disabilities reach their full potential. As a society, it is our duty to allow people with disabilities to experience a life they deserve.”
